The Empowerment Alliance
The Empowerment Alliance program reaches out to people with mental health disabilities and provides support on how to achieve certain goals and live better in recovery. Based on member empowerment, member control, peer support and advocacy, members learn disability management techniques and develop support networks that aid in wellness and recovery. Members are encouraged to develop a “Wellness Recovery Plan,” a self-guided plan which gives them coping tools designed to manage their disabilities and avoid or alleviate crisis situations. Included in the program are groups concentrating on arts and crafts, creative writing and poetry, computer skills, internet job searches, knitting, yoga, drawing, budgeting your dollars, singing, and learning how to navigate government benefits. New groups are created every week- so give us a call to find out about what groups are meeting at DCRC today!
