Lisa Maree Campbell Gooden began her legal career as a Real Estate Associate with O’Melveny & Myers in Century City and Los Angeles working on property acquisitions, commercial office and industrial leasing; mortgages, ancillary finance transactions, multi- state loan transactions; and public/private joint venture projects. Her aim to work in the public sector and positively impact much needed school construction in Los Angeles led her to join a former O’Melveny client – the Los Angeles Unified School District (“LAUSD”) – as Legal Counsel housed in the LAUSD’s Planning & Development Office. There she completed joint use and joint venture development agreements, leases, ground leases, equipment financing, school construction contracts, and facilitated on a local school bond initiative to revise the 66 2/3rds requirement to facilitate bond passage. With her assistance to the LAUSD’s Planning & Development Office, the first school bond passed in 30 years leading to actual school construction, and paving the way for other successful school construction bond measures.
Lisa returned to the private sector after LAUSD, and joined FSR Brokerage, Inc. (aka Fred Sands Realtors), then a privately held company, as a transactional attorney. As an integral member of FSR’s main residential arm, she handled real estate matters for the commercial asset management, franchise, corporate relocation, escrow and title insurance divisions. Lisa left FSR after FSR’s acquisition by Coldwell Banker and joined Douglas Emmett, Inc. (“DEI”), a publicly traded and self-managed real estate investment trust as an in-house leasing attorney. Over the course of 14 years with DEI, she generated and enhanced revenue by successfully drafting, negotiating and closing hundreds of commercial office and ground floor office/retail lease transactions across DEI submarkets in Los Angeles and Honolulu from letter of intent through premises construction stages. After almost 20 years “in-house” Lisa headed back to “Big Law” joining the global law firm Goodwin Procter LLP. As a senior attorney and member of the law firm’s Business Law Department and Real Estate Capital Markets Group, she represented landlords and tenants with large and small scale commercial leases and subleases.
Presently, Lisa is a Senior Vice President & Consultant Member of Landmark Equity Properties.
