Dear DCRC Community,
The Disability Community Resource Center (DCRC) continues to be deeply invested in the safety and wellbeing of our community. The DCRC has been closely following the emerging COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and has made the decision to move to exclusively remote operations as of Tuesday, March 17th. All group and individual meetings at the DCRC offices have been cancelled or moved to tele-work solutions.
In collaboration with the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and our network of Independent Living Centers across the state, the DCRC will continue to serve our community through virtual, telephonic and internet solutions. We will be conducting all intakes, meetings, classes, support groups and all other services through phone and internet meetings with our staff who will be working remotely from home.
DCRC recognizes the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) presents astonishing challenges to our community and the transition to remote operations may present some challenges at first, but we are committed to continue our support services to the community with as little disruption as possible. Our staff will be experimenting with a variety of communication modalities for doing business to meet the diverse needs of our community. While these new ways of engaging and providing supports will be different, they will allow us to continue our service delivery and maintain social distancing protocols.
These measures will be in effect until further notice, at which time we will reassess our situation and Public Health recommendations to see if we can resume in-person services. Please follow our social media and email posts for updates.
